What do you get when a ceramicist meets an artist?

The answer: A beautiful limited edition collaboration where form meets art.

There are 5 individual vessels in this unique collaboration. It takes 6-8 weeks alone to create, dry and fire a single vessel. That’s before any paint has even touched its surface. 

Elvira begins each piece with a humble pinch pot and then slowly builds it out in coils. Fired twice in a kiln, with the last firing reaching temperatures up to 1220C. 

Each vessel carries a unique character showcasing the natural imperfections and nuances of the clay. They are left fully unglazed to exude a raw organic canvas for the painting element to take place. 

While painting, Cassi wanted to work within the organic nature of the vessels, applying a fun and intuitive layering of colours and shapes, creating an uninhibited playfulness on each piece. 

A true labour of love and craftsmanship from two of Perth's local artists.
